In South Carolina, the Office of  Vital Records in Columbia has Birth, Death and, Marriage Certificates and Report of Divorce where walk in service is available as well as mail order requests. Birth and death records date back to 1915. Charleston, Florence and Newbury have old birth and death records dating back into the 1800s at their County Health Departments. Marriage  records at the state vital record date back to 1950   Marriage Certificates prior to 1950 may be available from the Probate Judge in the county where the license was issued.  A Report of Divorce is on file with the state since 1962  Divorce Reports prior to 1950 should be available from the County Clerk in the county where the petition was filed. Each of South Carolina's counties has a vital records office in the County Health Department that also has the capability of searching for birth and death records from 1915.
